《MOON SHIN Atelier》is a catalog depicting Moon Shin’s atelier without any embellishments. While the photographs show the atelier as it was, readers will even be able to enter his mind. Befitting the title, this book focuses on the process through which the celebrated artist produced his works, rather than the works themselves. The book begins with a foreword by Choi Seong-sook, the surviving widow of Moon Shin and the Director of Moon Shin Museum, and features photographs of the artist at work. It demonstrates his simple yet meticulous work processes, while his humble tools reveal that his works were never made with ease. The close-up photographs of Moon’s tools by 윤성민Yoon Sung-min will leave a strong impression. Moon’s quotes inserted throughout the book also show us his love for art and humanity arising from humility as well as his passion to create. It is expected that this book will inspire sculptors who wish to one day become internationally celebrated artists, students who want to study sculpture, and even art enthusiasts who hope to feel the breath of the late artist.
