Kim Kyujin(1868~1933) is a representative painter and calligrapher who painted the four gracious plants in the early modern period of Korea. He was especially famous for Chinese ink bamboo paintings. Although his expertise was in the various kinds of bamboo paintings, Kim was well known for his big bamboo paintings. Bamboos are known to symbolize the noble belief of scholars.
