A museum is a space where memory and time converge. Welcome to the Sookmyung Women's University Museum, a place that captures the mystique and beauty of history.
Since opening in 1971, the Sookmyung Women's University Museum has continuously strived for excellence, particularly in the collection and preservation of artifacts—vital elements of any great exhibition—and in the creation of high-quality educational programs.
The museum boasts a collection of over 10,000 artifacts, including ceramics, paintings, calligraphy, woodcrafts, jewelry, metalworks, traditional costumes, and embroidery. Through a variety of permanent, special, and planned exhibitions, we bring a diverse range of cultures to life, blending tradition with modernity for our visitors each year. To share and preserve our cultural treasures, we have digitized our entire collection. Additionally, the Museum Youth Education Center is at the forefront of museum education, offering a wide array of programs designed to engage and inspire.
Today, accessibility is the heartbeat of modern museums. To ensure that the museum is a place where everyone can visit and explore with ease, we are conveniently located on the same floor as Starbucks in the Prime Complex at Sookmyung Women's University. We invite you to discover the richness of daily life and culture within our walls. The timeless essence of history and content that nourishes the soul awaits you.
We remain committed to making every visit to our cultural sanctuary a seamless experience, allowing you to immerse yourself in the diversity of domestic and international cultures. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and interest in the Sookmyung Women's University Museum. Thank you.
