The Museum of Sookmyung Women's University is a general museum, focusing on the exhibition and study of the lives of Korean women. It was opened on June 10, 1971, with an exhibition space of 496㎡ on the first floor of the Science Building. In 1997 an alumnae, the late Kim Kyung-ae, donated the land valued at four billion won, which enabled the construction of the independent Museum building in 2004. Currently, the Museum has a collection comprising 10,000 items, mainly dealing with the relics of women's lives and it is still collecting or being donated more such works. Through the various exhibitions of embroidery works, accessories and scarves or bojagi, as well as through the youngsters' programs and credit courses for Sookmyung students, our museum plays a leading role in school museums. The curator teams of the museum consist of the Relics Management Team; the Exhibition & Education Team; and the Preservation Processing Team. These three teams provide professional service and organize the unique activities of the museum.
